Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains what happens to data when you use ttc.cool (“Tap the Cap”, “the site”). The site is operated by Scriptos.eu. Questions: contact@ttc.cool.
Short version
- There are no user accounts and we never ask for your name, e-mail or any other identifying detail.
- Your personal best times are stored in your own browser and are never sent to us.
- The only thing that reaches our server from the game is a reaction time in milliseconds, and only when it qualifies for the global ranking.
- Third-party analytics and advertising (Google) do set cookies and process data — details below.
Data stored in your browser
The game uses your browser's local storage for two keys:
| Key | Contents | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
mushroomReflexTopScores | Your best three times | Showing your personal record |
mushroomReflexLastScores | Your last three times | Showing recent attempts |
This data stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us, not linked to any identifier, and not readable by us. You can delete it at any time by clearing site data for ttc.cool in your browser settings — the deletion is immediate and permanent.
Data sent to our server
When a reaction time is fast enough to enter the world ranking, the game sends that single number to our server. Nothing is attached to it — no name, no account, no device identifier. The ranking is a plain list of times, which is why the leaderboard has no column for who set them.
A session cookie (PHPSESSID) is set by the server as part of the submission mechanism
and for basic rate limiting. It is strictly functional, contains no personal data, and expires
when you close your browser.
Server logs
Like virtually every web server, our hosting provider records standard access logs: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer and browser user-agent string. These are used for security and for diagnosing faults, and are retained by the hosting provider under its own retention schedule. They are not combined with game data or used to build profiles.
Third parties
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where they come from. It sets cookies and processes usage data on Google's infrastructure. We see summarised reports, not individual identities.
Google AdSense
The site displays advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalised advertising where you have consented to it.
You can review and change your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cookies and consent
Cookies on this site fall into two groups:
- Strictly necessary — the PHP session cookie used for score submission and rate limiting. The site cannot function correctly without it.
- Analytics and advertising — set by Google as described above.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent banner asks for your choices before non-essential cookies are used, and you can change those choices at any time through the banner's settings link. You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser settings; the test itself will keep working, but score submission to the global ranking may stop functioning.
Children
The site is a general-audience reaction test and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, since no personal data is requested at all.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. In practice we hold no data that can be linked to you: personal scores never leave your device, and ranking entries are anonymous numbers. For requests concerning data held by Google as a result of analytics or advertising, use the Google links above or contact Google directly. For anything else, write to contact@ttc.cool.
Changes to this policy
If the site's data handling changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
